How to Make

  1. Combine your Coconut Rum and pineapple juice in a glass filled with ice. Shake the mixture well.
  2. Drizzle a splash of Grenadine into the bottom of the shot glass.
  3. Strain ¾ of the rum and pineapple mixture into a shot glass using the back of a large spoon to slow down the flow of the liquid and to prevent the layers from mixing.
  4. Finish the shot off with a Blue Raspberry Vodka float.

About

These rainbow shots are entertaining and versatile. Most of the ingredients will already be in your home bar. However, various easy substitutes make equally delicious Rainbow Shots.

Grenadine is a sweet-tart syrup that forms the bottom, crimson-red layer of your Rainbow shot. This non-alcoholic syrup boasts yummy pomegranate flavors. When in a pinch, you can easily replace Grenadine with a red-colored simple syrup like strawberry or raspberry simple syrup.

Coconut Rum lends sweet, creamy, and fresh coconut flavors with a hint of citrus and tropical fruit. Pairing the coconut rum with pineapple juice is like a match in island heaven. However, feel free to replace the pineapple juice with orange juice. Both fruit juices form a sweet, yellow-orange layer in the shot.

Blue Raspberry Vodka creates bright blue lines in the shot. It’s silky smooth and boasts sharp raspberry flavors that light up your palate, making it perfect for drinking neat, simple mixers and cocktails alike. You can use Blue Curaçao as an orange-flavored replacement that still offers a similar blue shade.
