About
The Jack Rose Cocktail is a drink that has been popular for more than 100 years. It was first served in the early 1900s, and it’s a mix of applejack and lemon or lime juice. The drink is often made with grenadine syrup, but some bartenders disagree about adding it to the recipe.
The name of this cocktail comes from one theory about who invented it: Charles H. Baker Jr., an American writer who wrote “The Gentleman’s Companion” – which was published in 1939 under the pseudonym ‘Jack Rose’. Another story suggests that this cocktail might have originated at Philadelphia’s Ritz-Carlton Hotel around 1907.
Whoever created this cocktail, they were onto something because today we can find versions of this drink all over.
