About
The Gin Fizz is a cocktail that was invented in the late 1800s. It’s light, refreshing and has a nice citrus flavor.
The name of the drink comes from James Fenton, who apparently drank it every day while he wrote his column for The London Daily Telegraph newspaper. He called it “the gin fizz,” which later became just “fizz.”
The ingredients are: gin (or vodka), lime juice, lemon juice or orange flower water, sugar syrup or superfine sugar to taste (optional) and club soda. Ice cubes are also needed if you want to serve it on ice; otherwise mix all the ingredients together with some crushed ice first before adding more cold club soda.
