About

First appearing in the head bartender at Times Square’s Hotel Wallick, Hugo Ensslin’s book, Recipes for Mixed Drinks, the Aviation cocktail is an iconic gin cocktail. Although the cocktail is not very well known in America due to a shortage of creme de violettes for over 40 years, it has begun to slowly become more popular now that the ingredient is available.
